The Tale of Mr Trotter
Mr Trotter was born in 2011 from the shared passion of three pork scratching aficionados – Tom Parker Bowles, Matthew Fort, Rupert Ponsonby – and innovative pork scratching producer, Graham Jebb and Karyn Walker from RayGray Snacks.

They felt that the world deserved a better pork scratching than was currently available, and so they set out to produce one.

Pork scratchings are typically made from the rind and underlying fat from the pigs' shanks (back legs) above the ankle, just two strips a mere 60–75mm long by 18mm wide by 4–6mm thick. Cooked in the traditional way (single cooked), rind from the rest of the pig produces scratchings that are too hard a bite.

But Mr Trotter’s Great British Pork Crackling is triple-cooked, especially to produce a crunchier, punchier, porkier crackling and a much lighter texture. And because of Mr Trotter’s unique triple cooking method, we can use rind from other parts of the pig. That means less wastage, and maybe even more variety of texture and flavour.

Finally, it’s sprinkled with Mr Trotter's own very special seasonings - yeast and sea salt to produce his four pork cracklings: His ‘Original’, his ‘English Mustard’ his ‘Jalapeno Chilli’, with its deliciously fiery zing’, and his ‘Salt & Vinegar’- what's next? Whatever flavour will bring variety to porky perfection

Mr Trotter’s Great British Chestnut Ale
Beer and crackling make the best of matches so its natural for Mr Trotter to brew his own very special ale. Mr Trotter’s Great British Chestnut Ale blends roasted sweet chestnuts with malted Maris Otter barley to produce the happy harmony for which the Mr Trotter Team were looking.
Rupert Ponsonby says: “The chestnuts give a nutty creaminess to the brew and a honeyed note, which balances the spiciness of the English-grown Cascade and Bramling Cross hops. Mr Trotter’s has deep, sweet sourdough flavours, and tastes bolder than its lowly 4%abv.
Food writer Tom Parker Bowles adds: “This is a fine ale, with a long, languorous finish, and wonderful balance too. And it works wonders with both Mr Trotter’s Pork Crackling’
