Mr Trotter was born in 2011 from the shared passion of three pork scratching aficionados – Tom Parker Bowles, Matthew Fort, Rupert Ponsonby – and innovative pork scratching producer, Graham Jebb and Karyn Walker from RayGray Snacks.
They felt that the world deserved a better pork scratching than was currently available, and so they set out to produce one.
Pork scratchings are typically made from the rind and underlying fat from the pigs' shanks (back legs) above the ankle, just two strips a mere 60–75mm long by 18mm wide by 4–6mm thick. Cooked in the traditional way (single cooked), rind from the rest of the pig produces scratchings that are too hard a bite.
But Mr Trotter’s Triple Cooked Pork Crackling is triple-cooked, especially to produce a crunchier, punchier, porkier crackling and a much lighter texture. And because of Mr Trotter’s unique triple cooking method, we can use rind from other parts of the pig. That means less wastage, and maybe even more variety of texture and flavour.
Finally, it’s sprinkled with Mr Trotter's own very special seasonings - yeast and sea salt to produce his four pork cracklings: His ‘Original’, his ‘English Mustard’ his ‘Jalapeno Chilli’, with its deliciously fiery zing’, and his ‘Salt & Vinegar’- what's next? Whatever flavour will bring variety to porky perfection
SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Even the most devoted pork scratching lover likes a change occasionally. So we developed Mr Trotter’s Pork Crunch – a lighter bite in every way. Potently porky. Explosively crunchy. Specially prepared premium pork rind, hot flashed and with just a touch of Mr Trotter's own Original seasoning, it has an airy delicacy, a fluffy crispness, an ethereal porkiness. And, we have to add, a much lighter mouthful. High in protein and almost zero carbohydrates.
Continuing with the ‘lighter’ theme we will soon introduce Mr Trotter’s Skinny Dips. Light, crisp, crunchy strips of fine pork partnered with a juicy pot of Bramley apple sauce – a great dipping duo.
The mellow meatiness of prime pork strips (enhanced, naturally, by Mr Trotter’s Original seasoning), the airy crunch created by Mr Trotter’s unique cooking process and the fine fruitiness of British Bramley apples, and what have you got? A marriage made in the mouth. Snackingly delicious.
Mr Trotter’s Great British Pork Sausalami
It’s a knockout snack. It’s a flavour sensation. It’s potently porky and judiciously juicy. It’s Mr Trotter’s Sausalami, air dried snacking sausage. The easy-to-eat range includes ‘Original’, ‘Cracked Black Pepper’ and ‘Jalapeno Chilli’, and all are individually packed in Mr Trotter’s distinctive livery. Developed with the snacking habits of today’s busy consumer specifically in mind – convenient & high in protein.
But Mr Trotter isn’t going to stop there. We’ll be launching further products in the near future guided by the same fanatical devotion to quality. When it comes to the crunch, it has to be Mr Trotter.
